What is an ARC?
An advanced reader copy. These are usually printed before the copy edit pass, so you might find a typo or five (you can email me errors if you want, but you aren't expected to), but the book is otherwise complete. For paperbacks, the book won't have a proper bar code. It looks like it has one, but if you tried to sell it to a used bookstore, they won't take it because it isn't supposed to be resold. It can still be donated to Goodwill or a Little Free Library.
How do I get it? The epub will arrive in one of the first emails.

What if I can't finish the book, either because I'm busy or I just don't like it? That's unfortunate, but it happens. If you aren't able to finish by the publication date but are still reading it, take your time to finish and post a review when you do. If you aren't enjoying it, pass it on to a friend or put it in a little free library.
I'd love to read the book, but what if I've never written a review? It's incredibly easy to write a review. You have to choose a star rating - usually five means you loved it, four means you liked it, three means it was okay, but you wouldn't recommend it. I would say that if you find the book to two or one stars, it's more polite to just donate it and not leave a review on Amazon. You can stop there if you must - ratings are valuable too. If you are able, the review needs to be at least 20 words. It can be as simple as: "I enjoyed this book. My favorite character was Beldroth - he made me laugh! I'd recommend it to fans of Jim Butcher or Ilona Andrews."
Why review on Amazon? The vast majority of book sales, especially indie books, are on Amazon. There are certain review milestones, around 20 reviews, 50 reviews, and 100 reviews that make a significant difference in how Amazon recommends the book to potential readers and handles advertising for the book.
