Belated Happy Birthday to me! I'm 55 now, so 'bout time for a mid-life crisis, no? One-hundred and ten! We have a lot of dark clouds hovering around us right now, so it was nice spending time with friends and relaxing a bit this weekend. Friday night, we played pool and listened to an 80s band with good friends. Saturday, my oldest had prom while my wife and I went to a fundraiser for a group that does surgeries for children born with congenital heart conditions. Sunday was relaxing--we took grandma out for my birthday dinner (a nice heart-healthy chicken-fried steak for me, followed up with cake...) I put Secrets of Deara on pre-release at Amazon. To be transparent, I might have to move the date. I haven't finished my edits, nor checked with Marla, my traditional copy editor, to see if she's available. But, I'll start collecting email addresses for the ARC. I think, this time, I will wait until after the copy editor has done her magic to send out the ARCs. Feel free to send the link on to others or post it or whatnot. Signup for Secrets of Deara ARC! All books by Steven J. Morris Indie Author ShowcasePrevious Newsletters

Shepherds of Truth does not introduce a new conflict. It answers the one we’ve been circling since Book One. Here’s a brief moment from early in the book: He lay curled on the...
Subject: It ends April 13. It’s strange to write this. On April 13, I release Shepherds of Truth. Book Four. The end of Thaumatropic Roots. When I started Mother of Trees, I didn’t know how far this story would travel. I didn’t know who would live. I didn’t know what it would cost. Now I do. This final book pulls together threads that have been tightening since the beginning—the Mother of Trees and Father of Stones, dragons, elves, and their ancient troll enemies, the choices that were made...
Sorry, I know this is little warning even for locals. But there will be a book signing at Beerburg from 5-7pm tonight. I'll be one of the authors. And... beer. https://beerburgevents.com/the-brewery/ Come say hi. Anyone too far away, drop me a note and I'll send a dragon to fetch you. I set a release date for Shepherds of Truth. April 13. Had a little snafu with my editor, but I couldn't find someone else to give it another structural pass in time, so crossing my fingers. It did get the...
